Honor of the US Saturday, May 15, 2004 The revelations of torture and atrocities perpetrated by the US military and government contractors against Iraqi prisoners, including women and children, disgust all good people and show the US government's claims of "liberation" to be as much lies as their claims about weapons of mass destruction. The honor of the United States demands that those responsible for torture and other atrocities against Iraqis, from the lowest ranking soldiers to their highest ranking military and civilian superiors, should be fired and punished for their violations of US and international law. We must also realize that acting as conquerors and jailors of an entire people corrupts and brutalizes our soldiers. We must abandon this conquest and return our soldiers home as soon as possible. We do not want our soldiers turned into experienced terrorists themselves – we have the terrible example of Gulf War veteran and Oklahoma City bomber Timothy McVeigh to show where that leads.
