Ref: "Bush's leadership" by William R. Reiff (letter, May 13). Mr. Reiff states that the Arabs hate us not for what we do, but for who we are. Mr. Reiff misses the point completely. The Arabs hate the U.S., as does most of the world, because of our attempt to force our neo-Christian morality upon them.

It's been my experience that most of the people who claim to know what is fundamentally right for all other people haven't a clue about what they are talking about in the first place. Just because one person's fundamental religious and political philosophy is their own belief doesn't make it the only political or moral answer for all other people. Self-righteous condemnation will never lead to a peaceful solution.
