Buying votes

Here we are, one of the outstanding nations of the world with the avowed mission, in part, to spread democracy and freedom throughout the world. Our administration goes about that task by using all of its enormous resources to buy nations and votes in the United Nations. Consider the glory of it:

• $15 billion for Turkey's cooperation.

• Military establishments as a reward to Bulgaria for its cooperation.

• With military establishments taken from Germany in chastisement for acting from its horrible knowledge of the reality of war.

• Destabilizing friendly governments, such as Chile and Mexico, by forcing a position contrary to the clearly expressed will of their people.

Knowing this much, we have to ask about what we do not know. Exercising foreign policy using the methods of Duval County is not likely to be forgotten soon by the peoples of the world, or is it road rage as foreign policy?
