A group of around 450 met at the Federal Courthouse on Shoreline Blvd. and then marched to Cole Park carrying signs and banners and chanting 'peace is possible'. "Since when is the slaughtering and maiming of individuals a good thing," Nancy Vera said. "War is never pleasant." "I'm not willing to trade my life for oil and i don't think Iraq is worth 10 Americans and we are going to be sending people to die over there by the hundreds, thousands," David Fuqa said. 17-year old Fuqa may not be able to vote, but he has strong feelings when it comes to the united states invading Iraq. "We're ignoring the entire international community and we can't do that," Fuqa said. Event organizers say they wanted to give people against the war a platform to speak. That's because they say those who are "pro-war" think those that are "anti-war" are unpatriotic. "I was told by someone that i'm not an American because I'm against the war," Jeanne O'Leary said. Corpus Christi didn't compare to other cities around the world when it came to the number of protestors that turned out. In London and Rome there were reports of around 1 million people marching against the war. *This story is written and published by KRIS Communications.
