News Sunday, 6 April, 2003: We had a wonderful time at the Peace Feast Friday evening and wish everyone could have been with us. Kathryn Williams delivered a moving devotional vigil for peace and we all repeated the prayer of Sister Joan Chichester "Save us from our own vengeance"; then had a wonderful fellowship and good food shared by STAP group and others from the Lotus Cup. Milena Worsham had arranged for musicians Pete & Carlos and they provided inspirational anti-war songs throughout the evening. It was a blessing for all of the app. 50 persons who attended. Thanks to everyone for devotion to the cause of peace. Susan Peeples and Ann Smith are attending the Tikkun Conference in Washington June 1-4th and are expecting to absorb some skills to further the cause in South Texas. A group of 10 or so STAP members attended the Ralph Nader speech at TAMU-Kingsville on Thursday night. He is a teacher in the best sense of the word, and best when responding to students. In response to questions from the audience, he ripped into the Iraq War push that the Bush Administration promoted and gave us all inspiration to resist. We need to WORK HARDER! Remember we may be small but we are mighty! for older news, see our News Archive |
